Dear Friends of Kleinstuck Preserve,
We hope this finds you safe and well during the COVID-19 sequester. We have been delighted at the heavy (and safe) use of Kleinstuck Preserve. Though there are more trail users than usual, it is encouraging to see everyone practicing safe social distancing and keeping dogs leashed.
Since we are unable to hold our regular volunteer workdays due to safety restrictions, we need your help! There are now signs in the preserve to help you identify Garlic Mustard, an invasive species that is easily controlled by hand-pulling. Help us do some garlic mustard pulling on your next visit to the preserve! We recommend using gloves as you pull to help protect you from poison ivy and briars.
A brief update on the 12 acres for sale next to Kleinstuck: the property was off the market for the past month but was just re-listed last week. We continue to work toward keeping this space preserved, natural and open to the public, but the pandemic and financial crisis isn’t making things any easier.
If you are enjoying the preserve and your finances are still intact in the midst of this crisis, consider a gift to the Stewards of Kleinstuck: http://stewardsofkleinstuck.org/donate/
Stay safe and stay well….and enjoy the great outdoors!
The Stewards of Kleinstuck
